Collection: BENU Pens

We have placed our final BENU order for 2025 and all pens have been sent to their new homes. The items listed are what we have on hand and you are welcome to order those anytime - until sold out.

Changes will be coming for 2026 with regards to how we handle BENU fountain pen orders. 

As much as we love BENU, they are making many exclusive pens which can only be ordered from them, not via their retailers. Additionally, their prices are going up from 1 January 2026 which means our pricing would be going up. 

Shipping from Armenia to Australia is extremely expensive on the commercial side of things, and, if we order AUD$1000+, then customs duties and GST will be applied on the import. These costs eat into the profit margin that is afforded to the retailers. 

Our recent orders, of 3 fountains each, did not attract customs duties and GST and we made a whopping profit of $45 - this is because the shipping cost was lower than we budgeted, otherwise, we were going to make around $5. 

To that end, it's not economically viable to order only 3 pens at a time. What's the solution? I'm not sure I have one honestly. Either we order at least 5 fountain pens per order, or, we don't order any at all. 

The idea of the preorder situation was to order only what people want, which I still really like. But if we don't get 5 orders per month, then everyone will have to wait longer for their pens - and they'd get them so much faster by ordering directly with BENU. 

So perhaps, the best solution is to not offer BENU products as preorder items at all. This means that other than what we have on the store now, it would be quite some time before we have any BENU products as we don't have the cash flow to order items for the shelf in the hopes people buy what we order.

Have I landed on a decision on what we're doing in 2026. No.
As much as I want to support BENU and enable them to be more accessible in Australia, I can also make my own fountain pens with Just Turnings (go check out our current pens!), and perhaps support other Australian pen makers. 

What do you, my wonderful fountain pen community, think we should do?

The below is what our process has been. I'll leave this here for now but is not currently in use.

Generally: orders will be placed on, or around, the 15th of each month and will be shipped to you as soon as possible after your BENU items have arrived and checked. Please ensure you place your BENU order with us before 5pm AEST on the 14th of each month to ensure your order will be submitted on the 15th.

Please allow up to 4 weeks from the 15th before contacting us to follow up on the status of your order.

If you order any other items with your BENU order, we will post these together. Please try to order your BENU items separately to any other item to ensure you receive all your items as soon as practicable unless you are happy to wait for them to all be posted out together. We will not split orders that contain PREORDER and other items.
