About Us

Hi there!

We are husband and wife team, Craig and Melissa (.melie). 

I, .melie, established The Ellipses Collection in May 2025 after receiving plenty of encouragement from my family and a couple of communities I am involved with after sharing my own art and talking ideas around setting up a stationery business.

Growing up, I was fairly creative. I played classical guitar, sang, wrote poetry, built furniture with wood and metal, dabbled in technical drawing, sat in front of our aviaries and drew our birds and I'm sure there's more. I almost always wanted stationery for Christmas, and I had plenty of art supplies to keep me occupied. Suffice to say, I had a lot of hobbies (outside of my sport)!

Currently, I operate another company which offers business advisory and taxation services, and have been working in the accounting and tax industry since 2001. 

I have a few goals for The Ellipses Collection and one is to be able to fully step away from the accounting business and follow my creative pursuits.

You see, my mother passed away in 2024 at 65 years young. Without going into detail, one thing I learned is that life is for living, not waiting until retirement to do the things you want to do with it. Additionally, all my Mum wanted for me was to find my peace (and happiness).

With this message in mind, I started dabbling in all my hobbies and found so much joy in all the little things. And this is something I look forward to share with The Ellipses Collection: bringing joy to your life through the little things.

So why The Ellipses Collection? What does it mean?

Well - honestly - it's just that I like a lot of things and am a collector of hobbies...... I have so many ideas, so many things I'd love to do with the business, so many things I want to share, that I think limiting myself to just one thing or one avenue isn't going to work, so really, it's just an extension of me and that there's almost always more......

What do I want to achieve?

So many things!

I want to run events, film videos (I totally dislike talking to the camera), share beautiful art of wonderful people, share our own art and photography, and allow those dots to continue growing......
